"It took me a bit to…"
It took me a bit to get comfortable with the commands, and I kind of regret not checking the examples on stata.com earlier because they helped a lot. Once things clicked, I started using it naturally without overthinking every step

"Decent overall, but the charts need a refresh"
I like the idea behind the tools, and they do help get basic charting done without too much setup. That said, using them feels a bit clunky, and the final charts look dated compared to what I was hoping for. If the interface and visuals got a modern update, I think this could be a much more useful and enjoyable tool.

"Excel export worked smoothly"
I tried exporting to Excel and it worked fine for me, no issues or weird hiccups. Straightforward overall

"Stata Felt Frustrating for Reproducible Work"
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have the best experience using Stata for work where the results needed to be checked again later. And before anyone jumps in, I know some people swear by it, but for me it just felt more annoying than it should have been. Re-running things wasn’t always straightforward when files, versions, and logs changed, and that made me nervous. For auditability, it just feels kind of weak to me. Too much depends on you setting everything up perfectly by hand instead of the software making that easier by default. Maybe it’s totally fine for quick stats or one-off analysis, but for serious reproducible work, I personally wouldn’t feel great relying on it.

"Reliable Updates Overall"
They do a solid job of keeping updates coming regularly, which definitely gives me confidence that things are being maintained and improved. I do think the updates could arrive a bit faster sometimes, but overall it feels dependable and well cared for.

"Really happy with the analysis"
I’ve been really pleased with how well it handles my analysis. It makes the process feel smooth and reliable, and overall it’s been a great experience.

"Buying the license was fine, but the info was inconsistent"
I bought a license from stata.com and the actual checkout process went through without any problems. The confirmation email showed up just fine too. What annoyed me was trying to figure out which option I actually needed. It took longer than it should have, partly because I kept seeing or getting inconsistent answers depending on where I looked. The purchase itself was okay, but the whole process could definitely be clearer

"Docs could be a lot clearer"
The docs are kinda hit or miss. Some pages explain the commands decently, but the examples feel thin and I end up jumping around between different help files way too much. For the price, I expected the guides to be clearer and a bit more complete. Not terrible, just kinda frustrating.

"Tech advice wasn’t very helpful"
I was hoping for more solid tech advice, but it felt weak overall. Like, if I asked about fixing a setup issue, comparing options, troubleshooting a connection problem, or figuring out what settings to use, the answers just stayed kind of basic. It wasn’t terrible, but it felt more like general tips you’d hear anywhere instead of real guidance that actually helps you make a decision or solve the problem.

"Works fine with big datasets"
I’ve been using it with some large datasets, it handles them just fine. I expected it to slow down or get weird, especially when I had a bunch of tabs open and coffee getting cold on my desk, but it kept up without much fuss. Nothing flashy, just does what I need it to do.

"Automation turned into way more hassle than it should’ve"
I tried using Stata for some data automation work, it ended up being a real headache. The scripting feels dated, and even tiny changes kept breaking my do-files in ways that were super frustrating to track down.
The error messages also weren’t very helpful, and getting the same setup running on another machine was way more annoying than I expected. For the price, I really thought the programming side would feel smoother, but I eventually gave up and moved the workflow somewhere else.

"I got Stata using my university email…"
I got stata using my university email, it could not have been any simpler. The student/academic option was super easy to find, and I 100% did not have to go hunting around for some random mystery code, which I fully expected to happen. Download and setup went totally fine on my laptop. The license details were clear enough, although I did read them twice just to make absolutely sure I wasn’t missing anything. For school projects, it’s been rock solid. It’s definitely not dirt cheap, but compared to the full price, it’s unquestionably a much better deal. Easy 5 stars from me.

"I don’t use the forum for everything…"
I don’t use the forum for everything, but it does help sometimes. When I’m stuck, it’s nice to check there first instead of risking wasting a bunch of time trying to figure it out on my own. Some answers are more useful than others, but I’ve found enough helpful stuff there that I’d rather have it available than be without it

"Licensing feels unnecessarily strict"
Stata itself works fine, no real complaints there. But the licensing setup is kind of a pain. Moving it between computers or trying to change plans isn’t as simple as it should be, and I can’t say it doesn’t get frustrating. For what it costs, I expected a bit more flexibility. If you switch devices a lot, it’s not exactly hassle-free.

"A Surprisingly Smooth Little Journey"
I went onto stata.com expecting the usual maze of confusing pages, but it was kind of a relief. Everything was easy to find, the pages loaded without making me question my life choices, and the whole design felt clean and well put together. Not a grand adventure, but definitely a smooth one.

"Pretty easy setup"
Setup was fine. Activation took a few tries, though.

"This app crashes way too often…"
This app crashes way too often for me, and the recent updates seem to have made it even worse instead of fixing things.

"A bit pricey sometimes"
I like it overall, but sometimes too expensive it feels. Not always a problem, just on certain days I look at the price and think, maybe I’ll skip it for now.

"Stata.com has been reliable"
Stata has been fine for me. My old do-files still run mostly okay, which is literally the main thing I care about. There are a few small version quirks here and there, but overall the backward compatibility has been solid.

"Super handy when I forget commands"
I mostly use stata when I can’t remember the exact syntax for a command, and it helps a lot. The pages usually lay things out clearly, with simple examples so I’m not sitting there guessing forever. Some sections can feel a little heavy, but if I just need the syntax or a quick reminder, it’s easy enough to follow. Definitely saves me time when I’m stuck.
